Description
De personificatie van Astronomie is een gevleugelde vrouw die op een hemelglobe leunt en met de aanwijsstok in haar linkerhand naar de hemel wijst. Haar hoofd is bekroond met sterren, terwijl haar borsten de symbolen van zon en maan dragen. Naast haar een adelaar. Op de grond liggen boeken en meetinstrumenten die haar helpen bij de uitoefening van haar taak (bijvoorbeeld een zonnewijzer en een kompas).
