Summary[edit]

Description

The Gyeongju Tower museum also hosts an opened-up scaled-down model of Seokguram Grotto, which I had visited the previous day. As the real Seokguram is not accessible to visitors and can be seen only through a glass wall, this model is my only real chance to explore the wall figures.

At the very back of the grotto is this figure of Eleven-Faced Guanyin, which, due to its location hidden by the big Buddha, cannot be seen at all from the glass wall at the real Seokguram.

It is said that two of the extra faces were mutilated during the Japanese occupation.
