Summary

[edit]
Description
English: stereo isomers of ascorbic acid: L-ascorbic acid [Vitamin C] (1a); D-ascorbic acid (1b); L-isoascorbic acid (2a); D-isoascorbic acid or D-erythorbic acid (2b). Isoascorbic acid by definition has D chirality on the carbon in its hydroxyl chain, the L and D in its name therefore referring to the chirality of the carbon atom in the pentacycle. Conversly the L and D in ascorbic acids name refers to the chirality on the carbon in the hydroxyl chain.
Deutsch: Stereoisomere der Ascorbinsäure: L-Ascorbinsäure (1a), D-Ascorbinsäure (1b); L-Isoascorbinsäure (2a); D-Isoascorbinsäure (2b)
