Description
English: Three Arriva Guildford & West Surrey buses in Guildford Friary bus station, Guildford, Surrey. On the left is 6403 (GN04 UDS), a Volvo B7TL/TransBus ALX400, seen laying over out of service. In the middle is 3732 (GN54 MYP), a Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban. On the right is 6402 (GN04 UDP), another B7TL/ALX400. 6402 and 6403 were the two B7TLs that arrived at Guildford depot at the end of August 2009, to displace the step entrance Dennis Dominators (5214 and 5215). While 6402 was almost immediately sent for repaint, and had returned with a new paint of coat at the time of this photo, as can be seen, 6403 had yet to visit the paint shop. After the arrival of the Volvo B7TL double deckers, odd workings of the park and ride Volvos increased for a while. This was because the new double deckers temporarily weren't allowed on the usual double decker routes due to low trees (the Dominators had more substantial roofs than the B7TLs), so were instead put on the park and ride for a while, thus freeing up the park and ride B7RLEs to go on other routes. As can be seen here, 6402 is on park and ride route 200 (running a free service on this day as part of a Guildford Borough Council promotion to attract shoppers), while park and ride Volvo 3732 is on town circular route 27.
