Description
English: Arms of the Lords Douglas of Tilquhillie Castle.
  • Arms: Quarterly of 4:
  • 1&4: Argent a heart gules imperially crowned Or and a chief azure with three mullets argent on the chief (for Douglas);
  • 2: Argent, three piles issuing from the chief gules and in chief two mullets of the field (Lordship of Brechin, differenced for Erskine);
  • 3: Argent, three mascles sable on a chief of the second as many lions passant guardant of the first (Ogston of Fettercairn, County Kincardine; in 1479 the heiress married Douglas of Tilquhillie) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.752)
