electricalequipment in the new Coit Memorial Tower onTelegraph Hill, San Francisco. The company notonly wired and equipped the building for lightingthe interior, but was responsible for the exteriorflood lighting with sixteen 1000 watt G. E. floodlights, augmented by an additional sixteen 200watt reflectors. The firms contract also included power for theelevator and electrical energy for the pumps whichsupply water for the big storage tanks. The Central Electrical Company was foundedin 1907. Joseph M. Carlson and David H. Carl-son are the owners. Other important electricalinstallations by this firm include the Grace Cathe-dral on Nob Hill. San Francisco, the ChristianScience Sanatorium in Arden Wood, and theHotel Whitcomb. JOHN GRACEJohn Grace, pioneer contractor of San Fran-cisco, and one of the best building appraisors onthe Pacific Coast, died the latter part of Novem-ber. Mr. Grace was associated with T. F. Rileyin the Spreckels Building. The Architect and Enqineer. December. 1933
