Description
English: The monument was erected to commemorate the landing of the first British monarch in India.The gateway is located on the waterfront at the Apollo Bunder, in south Mumbai. It overlooks the Arabian Sea and is located at an angle, opposite to the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel. Today, the monument is synonymous with the city of Mumbai.
