| Description |
Português: Mata de Araucária, também conhecida como floresta aciculifoliada, é um tipo de vegetação que encontramos na região Sul do país. É a floresta da qual fazem parte os pinheiros, a imbuia, a erva-mate, os ipês, entre outras árvores. É popularmente chamada de Mata dos Pinhais.
Suas características e fisionomias são bem diferentes das outras formações florestais brasileiras. Isso ocorre porque essa floresta se formou em um clima mais frio e em outras condições de solo muito comuns na região Sul do país e locais com o mesmo clima. A distribuição das árvores ocorre de forma mais aberta e espaçada, pois os pinheiros não permitem que nenhuma outra árvore cresça ao seu redor. As árvores adultas apresentam poucas ramificações (galhos), que se localizam mais na parte mais alta das árvores, que costumam ser altas, variando de 25 a 30 metros. As estruturas reprodutoras costumam ficar localizadas na parte externa dos seus galhos. |
