Italiano: Partito: nel 1° d’azzurro (campo di cielo), alla torre affiancata da una chiesa, posta su di un mare fluttuoso, il tutto al naturale accompagnato nella destra del capo da una cometa d’oro ondeggiante in sbarra; nel secondo di azzurro, al castello uscente dal fianco sinistro dello scudo, terminato da una torre al naturale merlata di quattro, aperta, finestrata e murata di nero, posta su di un mare ondeggiante d’argento. Al palo d’oro sulla partizione.
Il Motto è “HÆC EST CIVITAS ATERNI PORTA APRUTII ET SERA REGNI.” (Questa è la città di Aterno, porta degli Abruzzi e confine del Regno).
Lo scudo è fregiato di ornamenti da Comune.
Il simbolismo nello scudo araldico. Lo stesso viene poi ripreso con l’istituzione del “Gonfalone di Città” e simboleggiano l’unificazione dei Comuni di Pescara e Castellammare Adriatico. Sono evidenti i richiami alle due sponde del fiume. La chiesa ed il castello.
