Italiano: Il geniale attrezzo (il cui nome “P-38” deriva dalla lunghezza della lama) venne messo a punto nel 1942 dall’esercito americano per consentire l’apertura delle razioni alimentari individuali o di sopravvivenza. Esiste anche un successivo modello poco più grande, denominato “P-51”. In realtà, apriscatole pieghevoli molto simili erano stati progettati e prodotti in Spagna già nel 1922. Un dispositivo simile, che incorpora a una delle estremità un piccolo cucchiaio e all’altra un apribottiglie, è tuttora in uso alle Forze Armate Australiane e della Nuova Zelanda.
