Italiano: Il primo apriscatole della storia fu brevettato in Inghilterra il 13 luglio 1855 (UK Patent 1577) da Robert Yates, un fabbricante di posate e strumenti chirurgici del Middlesex. Dal design robusto ed efficace, caratterizzato da una corta lama ricurva e da una barra di leva montate su un manico diritto con impugnatura in legno, il modello è prodotto e utilizzato ancora oggi.
