Summary[edit]

Description

English: The Aplec de Sant Salvador d'Adraén is an element included in the inventory of the intangible cultural heritage of the Natural Park of Cadí-Moixeró, an inventory made by the Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage (IPACIM).

On the first Sunday of August, for more than 100 years, the Gathering of Sant Salvador d'Adraén has been held without interruption. The festival combines the religious with the profane, although during the Spanish Civil War the mass was suppressed (1936-1939) and the Gathering was maintained. The priest to whom the parish corresponds, who today is usually itinerant, celebrates mass in the small church of Sant Salvador and sings the joys dedicated to Our Lord.

One of the main attractions of the gathering was being able to have lunch on the mountain after the service. It was common for people of all ages, from all the neighborhoods and even from La Seu, to come up with a 'bait' to make it on the fire that they all ate together. That morning, mules and horses were loaded with everything necessary for a good meal and a good party, 'it was also a day of celebration for the animals because they could graze freely'.
