Summary[edit]

Description
English: Apartment blocks on Cornwall Road To most locals this is still known as the Royal Bath Hospital, which was established on this site in 1825 as a charitible institution set for the benefit of the poor and sick who could not afford to pay for spa treatments. Land was given by the Earl of Harewood and amongst the donors was King George IV. The hospital was rebuilt and enlarged in 1889 [this time Queen Victoria gave a donation] in a vaguely Scottish baronial style - a little of which can be seen here. The hospital closed in 1994 and the building has been much altered and added to as it has been converted into apartments and separate houses.
