Description
The United States was built by Alex. Stephen & Sons of Glasgow (Yard no. 400). Launched and completed in 1903 and delivered to the Danish D.F.D.S. line for their service beween Scandinavia and the U.S.A., known as Skandinavien - Amerika Linien. Crossed the Atlantic 462 times in that capacity. The line ceased operation in 1935 and the vessel was sold for scrap the same year. Source: jmarcussen.dk (in Danish).
