While this has been for the most part occasional,during the spring groups of sailors, under the patronage ofMrs. Henry R. Hoyt, came regularly on Saturday afternoonfrom the Twenty-third Street Y. M. C. A. In this guide ser-vice, we have been greatly assisted by Miss Annie Lucas, whohas given generously of her time to this work. This branch ofthe work is becoming more and more important, and it is cor-related with the service given by the Hospitality Room. Lantern Slides for Schools 49 of the development of the extensive relations of the Museumwith the educational system of the country, but particularlywith the public schools of New York City. ThePublication booklet was prepared by the Curator, assisted byEducation1 members of the department staff, with an intro-duction by President Osborn. The publicationalso gives a resume of the educational work in 1917 and a listof the schools, colleges and other institutions throughout thecountry which utilized the Museum in 1917. These number1,159 institutions. This publication has been sent to all theschools in the city and to prominent educators of the UnitedStates and abroad. That the Museum is a leader in the development of methodsof cooperation with the public school systems is emphasized by the attention that this work received from threeOpinions foreign educational missions.
