ork on a farm required of all studentsmakes it possible for the student to earn enough money to pay nearlyall of his expenses during the following six months at the school. Dur-ing the summer of 1920 the students on farms are earning an averageof from $55.00 to $65.00 per month with board and room. Studentsfrom farms ordinarily spend the summer on the home farm. Positions There is an increasing demand for young men with technical train-ing in agriculture as farm managers, assistants on dairy, live stock orfruit farms in state dairy and inspection work, and in creameries,cheese factories, nurseries, florists establishments, etc. Although thefirst object of the School is to train young men and women for moreefficient service in their own home communities, there are always thosewho for various reasons prefer to find employment elsewhere. So far,the School has been able to place all its young men graduates who sowished in very desirable positions, though it does not guarantee to do so. 12

Course of Study The course of study in agriculture covers a period of three years.The student in Agriculture will be considered to be in school for twelvemonths each year. For six months beginning about October 1, he willattend school and receive both theoretical and practical instruction invocational subjects; for the other six months of the year, during thesummer crop growing season, he will work as a hired man on a farmapproved by the Director of the School. During this time, each student,in addition to earning his full pay as a farm worker, will be requiredto make certain reports and observations as directed by the instructorsof the school. Such reports will receive a regular rating the same asany laboratory exercise. The student will be expected to earn standardfarm laborers wages for a man of his strength and capacity.
