This painting was donated by Anna Ancher to the Danish artist's lottery for the benefit of the Defence collection in 1913. It was won by sergeant Alfred Kruse.

  • Provenance: Alfred Kruse, his daughter and from 1986 his granddaughter.
  • Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on May 28, 2001 for DKK 300,000 (EUR 40,000). Lot 695/1067.
  • Gifted to Ribe Kunstmuseum in 2018.
