Description
Deutsch: Die Deutsche Post in Ostafrika (um 1900). Ankunft der Botenpost in Ujiji an der Zentralbahn, zum Schutz in Begleitung eines Soldaten. – „In den Jahren 1899 und 1900 sind auf die zwischen Tabora und Ujiji verkehrenden Botenposten wiederholt räuberische Überfälle verübt worden. In einem Fall haben zwei Straßenräuber den eingeborenen Boten erschlagen und die Post mitgenommen“ (aus Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung, 1901).
