Summary[edit]
DescriptionAnimalHospital2009Patient&Drip.JPG |
English: Photograph of cat after second surgery in three days. The first surgery was routine spaying; the second (more major) had to be performed after the patient "escaped" from her hospital "bed" during an examination, jumped up on some hanging rafters, then slipped off them (likely because she was panicking and her claws had just been clipped as a routine accompaniment to spaying), and managed to get stuck in the space between two walls. Upon being found the next day, she was in serious condition: the sutured incision from the spaying had re-opened and there was dust everywhere inside (and rampant infection), as well as some herniation. At the moment of this upload, the patient is in stable condition. Picture shows patient being attended to. Antibiotics and morphine are delivered by intravenous drip. Attached toilet (shown in red plastic) and food (not shown) are available round the clock. |
