Summary[edit]

Description

Reached number 38 in Explore on February 20, 2009. First made Explore on March 30, 2008, and it's still in Explore. This has been a big surprise to me, but I'm very happy about it.

This drawing is my version of Burne-Jones lovely angel. Pencil, ink, colored pencil, gold paint on colored paper. I applied velvet powder, metal powders, gilded braid, and paint to various mats, and painted the frame to match the predominant colors in the drawing. Drawing measures about 5 by 7 inches.

Pre-Raphaelite Angels

They were the angels of delight, Not rushing Powers of the air, Nor Principalities, Nor beings of great might. Mere beauty was their State of grace-- A sovereignty of light.
