Anderson and Middleton Lumber Company was headquartered and had a mill in Aberdeen and had logging operations near Cosmopolis, Oakville and North River in Grays Harbor County. They also had operations in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It was from the Cottage Grove operation that, in 1926, wood-burning engines were purchased for production of the movie THE GENERAL with Buster Keaton. The company began operations ca. 1906 and is still in business in the Aberdeen-Hoquiam area.
