THE RAIGUEI. MILIv. scape that is quite charming. Close by is the old millof Abram and Elizabeth Raiguel, which, according tothe date-stone in its front elevation, was built A. D.1797. On a little hillock to the south stands the fineold Raiguel farm-house, with all its antique appurte-nances, built four years earlier, a venerable centennial 332 LANDMARKS IN THE LEBANON VALLEY. relic of rural comfort, agricultural prosperity and thatproverbial peace and coutentment that attend husbandry.Here, if we mistake not, the wife of Rev. Dr. A. C.Wedekind, of San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. Boughter, hersister, of Lebanon, were raised to womanhood. TheCassidys and Shirks have also married into this family.

THE RAIGUFX FARM-HOUSE. This farm, with its ancient dwellings, is now theproperty of Mr. Josiah Kreider, living near the Horse-shoe pike, while the mill property has been ownedsince 1840 by David Kreider and his son, presentproprietor. All of this property, and many acresbesides, was the original possession of Abram Raiguel, a A GLIMPSE OF ANNVILLE. 333 bachelor uncle of the builder of the mill named, whoselog- cabin used to stand where the farm-house nowstands. He was a native of Cougmont, Switzerland,from whence, after settlement here, he called his nephewand made him his heir. Other old families are theImbodens (one scion the Confederate General fromVirginia), Kreiders, etc., all whose first ancestors areburied at the Hill church. Were we to drift down this Indian-named creekwe should soon come to where, in the days ofthe Revolution, stood a g-un-barrel boring mill, anadjunct, we suppose, to the very prosperous gun-smithbusiness which then flourished in and about Lebanon.Farther do
