Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy zoomorphic strap end (Thomas Class B. Type 1) dating to the early Medieval period (c. 800-1100AD)  The terminal takes the form of a stylised animal head with simple moulded features with a collar comprising two incised lines behind. There is traces of decoration on the rest of the body. Two further incised lines appear before the split end, which would have had rivet holes for attachment that is now missing.
