Title
An incomplete copper alloy attachment bar from a purse c. AD 1450-1600
Description
English:

An incomplete copper alloy attachment bar from a purse dating to the late Medieval to early Post Medieval period (c. AD 1450-1600). The attachment bar is T shaped in plan, with a central square block, located on one side of the bar. The arms are circular in cross-section with circular terminals at either end. At the base of the central block, there is an integral shank, which is circular in cross-section. The object has a mid-green patina.

These are two piece purse bars, with a T-shaped attachment bar that attaches into a simple bar with integral terminals. This purse bar is consistent with a Williams Class H3 purse bar. For both complete and incomplete examples on the database, see: NARC-67999D; WMID-3B7B0F; and WMID-E51925.
