Heil dem ehrwürdigen frommen Greisen
Auch dem alten Biedermann
Friede diesem wahren Weisen
Nun am Ziele seiner Bahn.

Reine Tugend war sein Streben
Wohltun immer sein Bemühn
Für des Tempels Ehre leben
Konnte seinen Geist entglühn.

Ja auch diese heilgen Hallen
danken ihm, dem Musikchor
um der Gottheit Wohlgefallen
stieg die Umsicht hoch empor!
