| Description |
English: Computer simulation of the winds affecting the tail surfaces (especially the horizontal tail, highlighted in bright green) of the Ameristar Charters Flight 9363 accident aircraft while parked at Willow Run Airport. The left diagram is color-coded to show variations in horizontal wind speed, with shades of blue denoting lower wind speeds and shades of orange denoting higher wind speeds; the right diagram is color-coded to show variations in vertical wind speed, with shades of green denoting negative vertical wind speeds (downdrafts) and shades of pink-to-red denoting positive vertical wind speeds (updrafts). The aircraft's fuselage and wings are not shown. Labels have been added to help distinguish which diagram shows horizontal winds and which shows vertical winds.
