In this statement Val-entine has erred. There was no Domine of the Dutch Churchnamed de Riemer. He was evidently confused with the factthat Isaac de Riemers daughter, Margharetta, the widow ofHon. Cornells Steenwyck, Burgomaster (N. N. Register) )\Iem-ber of the Council, 1674, Mayor of New York 1688, to mention buta few of the posts he filled, married Oct. 20th, 1686, DomineHenricus Selyns, pastor of the Church in the Fort and laterof the Garden Street Church (N.
