The observation that the Roentgen method has aninflammatory influence on the walls of the blood vessels byshrinking (a specific kind of chronic endarteritis), which canbe utilized in succulent tumors with therapeutic effect, inducedme to try the rays in such cases of Morbus Basedowi, which 102 American Quarterly of Roentgenology. showed small enlargements of the thyroid gland with the mostgratifying results. Encouraged by this, I began to apply theRoentgen method as a secondary means of therapy to theremaining lobe. Later I found that all cases of BasedowsI >isease were benefited bv the Roentgen method.
