A HE vegetable world can hardly offer a moreinteresting object, than a tree of exalted statureand extensive shade, covered with a beautiful andsingular foliage, putting forth from its boughs animmense number of large and variegated flowers,at the same time that its trunk affords one of themost useful species of wood, and its bark an aro-matic medicinal agent. Such an one is the Tuliptree of the United States.
