Summary
[edit]DescriptionAmerican Soldiers with German Wechselapparat (Wex-type) Flamethrower.jpg |
English: In this photo, U.S. soldiers test a captured German Wechselapparat flammenwerfer. The Wex-type flamethrower was intended to be operated by two men, but was the first flamethrower that could be operated by a single soldier. German flamethrower teams operated in groups of five: a soldier to operate the lance, a second to carry the backpack gear and a third to assist the second man. Two additional soldiers were assaulters armed with grenades and melee weapons in addition to firearms. |
