American Robin with beak full of mud in the process of building a nest.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Female American robin gathering mud to line her next nest. Robins take about five days to build a fresh nest. Newly built nests made of twigs, dead grasses, and other materials are reinforced with mud to make the outer layer sturdier. The robin then lines the inside of the nest with fine grass.
