Summary[edit]

Description
English: American Cockroaches (Periplaneta americana) are the largest species of common cockroach. Their outer wings, such as the one pictured, are hard and leathery to protect their bodies. American cockroaches use their wings to glide from high elevations to lower elevations, where there is more moisture and cooler temperatures, as they are cold-blooded creatures.
