Amcazade Hüseyin Paşa Mansion, known as the oldest mansion on the Bosphorus still existing in part today, was built in 1699. Designed for the grand vizier Amcazade Hüseyin Paşa of the Köprülü family, the building consisted of a “Harem” and “Selam” with 15-20 rooms. The mansion was also the site of preparation for the Karlofça Agreement. Over time it fell into disrepair and the only section which remains standing today is the “Selam” quarter. A restoration project, overseen by Vahide Tamer, turned out to be inadequate because of limited finances. In 2007 the mansion was taken under the administration of the Ağaoğlu Group with plans to convert it into a boutique hotel.
