Description
English: Altit Fort is located on a rock cliff which is a dangerous vertical drop straight into the Hunza river. Legend tells us that the ancient Kings used to punish the criminals by throwing them from the fort into the river. It is located in such a place from where you can see almost every village in Central Hunza. The Kings quit living in the fort and moved to Baltit Fort, which caused the fort to deteriorate far quickly than Baltit Fort.
