Description
Deutsch: Weidbuchen entstehen auf Hochweiden, die intensiv von Rindern und Ziegen genutzt werden. Da diese Tiere junge Buchentrieben immer wieder abfressen, kann sich oft erst nach Jahrzehnten ein Busch mit stärkeren Trieben (sog. Kuhbusch) bilden, die dann gemeinsam zu einem Baum heranwachsen. Dieser Baum bildet allerdings keinen Hauptstamm, sondern besteht aus einem Bündel von Einzelstämmen, die mit der Zeit eng miteinander verwachsen und aus der Distanz einem Hauptstamm ähneln. Solche alten Weidbuchen sind als markante Landschaftsmarken typisch für die Hochweiden im Südschwarzwald.
