English: All Souls, Langham Place, near to Marylebone, Westminster, Great Britain.
The spire of All Souls in Langham Place dominates the northern end of Regent Street. The church is the only surviving example by John Nash; it was completed in 1823 and consecrated the following year. The unusual combination of a gothic spire above a classical rotunda drew unfavourable comments at the time; one MP described it in the House of Commons as a 'deplorable and horrible object'. |
