English: According to The Morristown & Morris Township Public Library & The North Jersey History & Genealogy Center:
[This hospital was built on the east side of Mt. Kemble Avenue and it burned down in 1918. This building replaced the the Old Arnold Tavern, which had been been moved from the Morristown Green to serve as a hospital. All Soul's Hospital was rebuilt across the street on the west side of Mt. Kemble Avenue, after this hospital burned down.] Morristown historian Julia Keese Nelson Colles (1840-1913), a founding member of the Women's Board of the New Jersey Historical Society, arranged to move the building from the Morristown Green to her estate on Mt. Kemble Avenue. |
