Description
English: The Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, Royal arms of the United Kingdom (1837-present), All Saints Church in Kirby Cane, Norfolk.

The church dates from Norman times and the south doorway still has the Norman zig-zag carving > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342251. The porch was added in late medieval times and the north aisle > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342264 in 1758. The stained glass windows > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342272 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342275 were installed in the 19th century. To the east of the north aisle is a vestry - noticeable from outside - where the former St Mary's chapel used to be in medieval times. When the floor had to be lifted due to rewiring several years ago, a vault containing three stone coffins was found underneath it. The octagonal font > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342280 dates from the 14th century, with shields and faces > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342285 carved in the bowl and four lions sitting at the shaft. The pulpit is 16th century (Jacobean) and the eagle lectern is dated 1893. This church is kept locked but a key is available.
