Summary[edit]

Description
English: This well weathered 1938 Alberta license plate was used on a vehicle for use in the National Parks. Each edge of the plate is painted green to allow this vehicle to enter the parks without having to purchase a gate pass each time the vehicle enters. These plates were mainly used by residents of the parks. The green edging has darkened with age and appears black. Another unusual feature is that these plates usually had red painted borders except for years like this one where red bordered plates were issued so green paint was used.
