English: A U.S. Navy aircraft fueler aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61) pulls a fuel hose across the flight deck, 13 March 1966. Ranger, with assigned Attack Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14), was deployed to Vietnam from 10 December 1965 to 25 August 1966. In the background is a Douglas A-1J Skyraider (BuNo 142015) of Attack Squadron 145 (VA-145) "Swordsmen". This aircraft was later transferred to the U.S. Air Force and was shot down 20 km west of Kham Duc, Quảng Tín Province, South Vietnam, on 22 April 1970 while in service with the 602nd Special Operations Squadron. The pilot was rescued. |
