English: Lt. Col. Jenness Steele, commander for the 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion “Lobos,” 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, mounts silver spurs on Soldiers as they remain in the front leaning rest position during the battalion’s spur ride at Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 3. During the event, troopers were put through two days of trials, including navigating the leader reaction and air assault obstacle courses, participating in a simulated medical evacuation during a live helicopter flight, and qualifying with their assigned weapons, as well as many other grueling tasks. At the conclusion of the event, Soldiers who completed the ride were entered into the Order of the Spur and were awarded their silver spurs. |
