[edit]
Description
English: Colorized postcard of a craft crossing the river Ain. The cable, 3 cm in diameter, measured about 65 m and weighed 132 kg. This craft was intended to carry milk from the farm of the Chartreuse to the opposite side of the river. One day a woman carrying milk was drowned by the flooding river that caused the cable to fail. The Chartreuse is now recovered by the water of the lake of Vouglans.
