Summary[edit]

Description
English: The COVID-19 outbreak caused a forced stop in many production activities. Among those that could not stop, are those related to agriculture. This image shows a view of an area of Puglia, an agricultural region in Italy. This image was obtained by comparing the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) of Copernicus Sentinel-2 images of March and April 2020. The different colours in this composite multitemporal NDVI image illustrate different stages of plant development; healthy and growing crops appear in blue tones and crops that grow more slowly appears in green tones. The presence of vegetation in the growth phase indicates the continuation of agricultural activities even during the lockdown phase.
