They occur on different kinds of animals, as the dog and cat, and there are species that occur in houses, on squirrels, rats, mice, and various mammals. It is mainly on the smaller species of mammals, and one species occurs on birds. One species attacks poultry. It buries itself in the skin something like a jigger, though not so extreme in the extent to which it will burrow.
