Description
English:

Caption on image: Seattle big fire view, looking northwest from First Ave. [illeg.] Filed in: Seattle--Fires and Fire Department

  • Subjects (LCTGM): People--Washington (State)--Seattle; Ruins--Washington (State)--Seattle; Postcards
  • Subjects (LCSH): Great Fire, Seattle, Wash., 1889; Fires--Washington (State)--Seattle; First Avenue (Seattle, Wash.); Denny Hill (Wash.)

"Looking northwest from First Avenue", written on the photo, doesn't make a lot of sense; if it's anything like that it would be looking north or northeast, with Denny Hill at right, Queen Anne Hill at left. Then this must be somewhere near the north limit of the burned area. The three maps shown at https://www.stolenhistory.org/threads/1889-post-fire-seattle-rebuild-speed-5-625-buildings-in-18-months.31/ all essentially agree on the area burned by the fire, and all show that along Front Street (First Avenue), the northern limit of the fire was Spring Street on the right/east, but the fire extended at least another block north on the left/west, just past Seneca. So, if this is anything like what is described, the first major building at the right is presumably either at First and Spring or First and Seneca. This could presumably be narrowed by some pre-Fire pictures of that area.
