Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is a painting on high quality canvas frame using cold wax medium.

It is based on my experiences of the Fenland landscape. It is something of a departure from the darker tonality of the paintings I have been working on lately, but it remains firmly in the realm of abstraction. As some of you may know, the weather here in England can be very changeable and just recently we have witnessed the arrival of the sun. However, the rain is never far away and this painting reflects my experience of cycling though the Fenland landscape, experiencing alternate moments of warm sun, showers, wind and rain. I am convinced the weather here is a living entity, a creature, a chameleon.

I have tried to convey a sense of movement and changing light, overlapping forms and shapes, a kaleidoscope of colour, dissolving, fragmenting and resurfacing. You don't have to look too far to see the inspiration provided by a number of Italian Futurist painters.petercorr.com

"……..Nobody would affirm that the tree grows its crown in the image of its root. Between above and below can be no mirrored reflection. It is obvious that different functions expanding in different elements must produce divergences".
