| Description |
English: Aerial Ropeway, Claughton The ropeway takes clay from the moor to the Brick Works at Claughton. There are two ropeways shown on the map which cross the square but this one seems to be the only one still working. Being a local, every house I ever lived in was probably built with bricks from Claughton Manor. Each brick had its name on it. Shot taken from the edge of Black Wood. The wood is enclosed by high fences and gates possibly to keep the pheasants in for shooting and the peasants (like me!) out for Geographing. |
