DescriptionAdmiralty Arch (14726933558).jpg | Two for the price of one, this penny postcard was sold by St. Paul's Hospital in a competition where the purchaser could win £1000. This was the early 1920s, St. Paul's was a Hospital for the treatment of venereal disease which had been founded in 1898 at Red Lion Square. In the early 1920s the Hospital moved to Endell Street in Covent Garden amalgamating with the British Lying in Hospital. It was during this period that more money was needed hence the competition. |
