| Description |
Deutsch: Die Dürener Kreisbahn (DKB) übernahm im Mai 1993 zwei Strecken von der Bundesbahn, welche die DB stilllegen wollte. Im September 1993 bestellte die DKB neuartige Fahrzeuge vom Typ RegioSprinter, die bislang nur auf dem Papier existierten. An beidem hatte der damalige Landrat und SPD-MdL Adi Retz erheblichen Anteil. Bereits im März 1995 war das erste Fahrzeug fertig und wurde am 25. in Jülich und am 26. in Düren als "RegioSprinterShow" der Öffentlichkeit und der Presse vorgestellt. Die DKB vermarktete schon damals ihre beiden Bahnstrecken als "Rurtalbahn", zum 1.1.2003 wurde ein neues Unternehmen namens Rurtalbahn GmbH gegründet, in welchem die DKB aufging. Im Kreis Düren blieben die RegioSprinter bis zum 25. Februar 2019 im Einsatz, sie wurden dann nach Tschechien verkauft. |
