Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Comparison of a normal person’s brain (left) versus a blind person’s brain (right) while number processing. When number processing, the visually impaired brain works more than the normal brain. The brain of the visually impaired has the ability to rewire in order to efficiently use the parts that are typically used for vision, as their other senses become keener in order to compensate- sound, for example, can activate the visual cortex of a blind person’s brain. Here, we have an activated visual cortex of a blind person’s brain due to induced activity from soundwaves.
